Acne is one of the most common skin illnesses in the world today, affecting people of many age groups including teenage and adulthood. There are lots of factors which can trigger an acne breakout.

Abnormal cell flaking inside the follicles is a first cause of the disease. The flaking leads to the formation of a plug that may enlarge or rupture the follicle. Once ruptured, the follicle splits up its debris and oil onto the skin which eventually leads to conditions like inflammation and swelling.

Yet another cause of acne is skin bacteria. Propionibacterium acnes or P acnes is a specific kind of bacteria that feeds on your skin. These bacteria can produce substances that may open the way to skin irritation. Further on, these bacteria also produce enzymes that engage with the sebum to produce skin irritants. If you are already suffering from inflammation, these bacteria are bound to worsen it.

Hormonal issues may also trigger an acne breakout. Androgens in particular are determined as a leading cause for acne. Though present in both men and women, this hormone is primarily found in men. These hormones dilate the sebaceous glands and also lead them to produce bigger quantities of sebum. The increased level of sebum usually leads to the formation of plugs which serve as nutrition for the bacteria. The hormone is mostly active in the teenage years and also triggers the growth of armpit and pubic hair during the teenage. they are also leading reason for acne among kids.

The female hormone estrogen however is more likely to boost acne conditions in woman. A monthly menstrual cycle is set by the varied changing phases of the hormone level in the body. Any acne breakout will also follow these changes getting good or worse as the cycle wears on. Most consultants endorse an anti acne remedy along with birth control pills as a strategy of combating the disease while preserving the beneficial estrogen hormones.

Family genetics also perform a role in acne attacks. Possibilities are if either of your fogeys had suffered from acne at some point of their lives, you will get it too sooner or later. However, the exact genetic factor behind this phenomenon is yet to be determined.

There are some substances that are known to irritate acne. Amidst numerous other substances, it is oily food and chocolates that are regarded as first perpetrators. But this is just a myth and these foods have no connection with your acne condition.

Other causes which may trigger acne breakouts include diet, stress and vitamin deficiency. Remedies, however, are easily available in the form of OTC medications like Exposed acne treatment or prescribed drugs.
